I found this on Pinterest. It is worth a look!
I have been using mobile photos all along for private and for business purposes.
It is very easy to snap away with a mobile.
Since I got my iPad2 I have been snapping away with it as well. Although it is a bit bulky, I always have it with me.
It also helps to have a photo ready for a blog post.
I have not been using Flickr as much, because the uploading takes much more time, but I have activated my personal account (karentoittoit) again.
I want to add our business account to Flickr as well.
Up until now I have been using Picasa photo albums for our business account: SABC Media Libraries.
I see now that the search options, as well as the tagging and grouping options makes Flickr a very valuable social media tool.
I am not yet sure on what options to choose for the copyright? Any suggestions on what is the best option?
I have activated the Instaweather app as well, and has been playing with it this week. Coupled with Instagram it makes for a great daily feed on Instagram.
I am trying to find out what type of wording to use when we have taken photos of people here in the libraries. I have seen that some people use it ion their libraries. I will ask Fiona again, of The Fiona Principle. Do you have an example for me?
I really like playing around with photographing on my mobiles.
I also think that it is the best way to engage our customers, and that people really like seeing themselves on photos taking part in the library.
Sometimes people complain that we are taking too many photos, but then they are the first checking out how their own photos in the albums… Mostly on Facebook, the blog and Picasa.
I do not tag photos as often as I used to, and leave it up to the individuals who wants to tag themselves. I usually just send the link of the album to make people aware of the photos that have been uploaded. I have never had anyone asking me to remove their photos.
The weekly wrap-up post of Week 2 give a great overview of what can be done with mobile photography, especially in the library environment. I will be checking back there: Weekly wrap-up post: week 2
(Photo: Taken on my Blackberry 9360 on Friday, on my way to work: The SABC building in Johannesburg.
Also used on Instaweather for an Instagram update.)
I have made a Storify of Thing 1 for ANZ 23 Mobile Things.
It is a work in progress…
I am quite familiar with Twitter, as I have had an account for a few years already.
My Twitter username: @karentoittoit
I will be updating my progress here, especially if I see something that I did not know before.
8 May 20134:
I missed the Google Hangout of #Anz23mthings Hangout with Jan, Mylee, Kathryn, Abigail and Kate, but luckily it is available. (Just struggling with the network, cannot listen to it in one go!)
